BYU has lost five straight on the year, including four-straight to San Diego this past week. The Cougars are a solid team at home, as evidenced by their 4-2 mark. The Cougars offense ranks fourth in the WCC, with a batting average of .263 and averaging just over five runs per contest. Jacob Brugman, and Adam Law are the main cogs on the Cougars offense with each player bring a different dimension. Brugman, has five doubles, 20 RBI’s and three home-runs, while Law has a .346 batting average and four doubles.

The Cougars pitching staff has struggled at times this season, holding just below a 4 ERA. The Cougars ace, Desmond Poulson kicks off the series on Wednesday. The pitcher holds a 2.29 ERA, and is 2-0 on the season.

Kansas is 7-1 in their last eight games on the year, including a four-game sweep of Niagra two weeks ago. The Jayhawks took two out of three last weekend vs TCU in a conference battle. Kansas’s pitching staff is a huge reason for the teams resurgance including a 2-0 effort last Sunday vs the Horned Frogs in a game that lasted 12 innings. Kansas aims for more of the same in the series with BYU.
