Former Kansas Jayhawks forward Thomas Robinson was dealt to Houston from Sacramento on Wednesday night. Robinson was part of a three team trade that also included Phoenix. Marcus Morris, and Cole Aldrich, each former Kansas Jayhawks were also included in the deal.
Houston is set to acquire Robinson, Tyler Honeycutt, Francisco Garcia, and a second-round pick while Sacramento gets Patrick Patterson, Aldrich, Toney Douglas, and money. Phoenix acquires Morris, reuniting the twin brother with Markieef Morris, already a member of the Suns.
Robinson was drafted fifth in last years draft by the Kings. He was averaging about five points and five rebounds for the Kings in 16 minutes of action each game. Aldrich has been in the league two seasons, and Sacramento will be his third team. He was averaging about two points and two rebounds for the Rockets, and Morris had an average of nine points and four rebounds. Morris was drafted last season by the Rockets with the 14th pick.
This trade is only based on reports from sources, but is expected to be ratified. The trade leaves Houston’s bench bare for tonight’s marquee game vs Oklahoma City.
