Kansas Women's Basketball: Kansas State Preview

On Saturday, the Kansas State Wildcats will host the Kansas Lady Jayhawks in a key Big 12 game. Kansas State enters the game at 12-8 overall, while Kansas is 13-6 overall. The game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. central time in a place the Lady Jayhawks haven’t won at since 2001. Kansas last defeated Kansas State, 65-62 on Jan. 27th 2001 in Manhattan.

Senior guard Brittany Chambers leads the Wildcats in scoring, rebounding and assists. Chambers is averaging 19 points per game, seven rebounds, and three assists per game. Haley Texada is averaging 12 points and three rebounds per game as the only other double-figure scorer for the Wildcats.

Kansas sits one game ahead of the Wildcats with a 4-4 record in the Big 12, as Kansas State is searching for a win to tie this mark up. Kansas is tied for fifth thanks to their huge win over Iowa State on Wednesday, 78-75. Angel Goodrich and Carolyn Davis continue to lead the Lady Jayhawks with Davis leading in scoring at 15 points per game, and Goodrich doing everything else. The point guard averages six rebounds, seven assists and two steals per  contest.
