On Saturday at 3:00 p.m. central time, the third-ranked Kansas Jayhawks host the Oklahoma Sooners. The game will be televised on ESPN. Kansas enters the game on a 16-game winning streak, with a 17-1 record overall, and are 5-0 in Big 12 play. Oklahoma on the year is 13-4, and 4-1 in conference.
On the year, Oklahoma has lost too Kansas State, Stephen Austin, Gonzaga and Arkansas. The Sooners are led by senior forward Romero Osby, who is averaging 15 points and seven rebounds per contest. Osby leads the team in scoring and rebounding. Senior guard Steven Pledger contributes with 11 points per game.
Oklahoma is tied for second in the Big 12 conference, right behind Kansas at the top along with Kansas State and Baylor. The Sooners average 69 points per game, and shoot around 43% from the field.
The Jayhawks are poised to steal the top spot in the USA Today poll after top-ranked Duke lost on Wednesday to Miami, 90-63. Kansas is tied for third in the AP poll with Syracuse behind Duke and Michigan. There is a chance Kansas could overtake Michigan for the top spot there as well. Michigan travels to play Illinois on Sunday, while Syracuse is in action with Villanova on Saturday.
