Jayhawks Climb to Number 3 in new Top 25

In the new top 25 men’s basketball poll announced on Monday, their was a new number one thanks to the Louisville Cardinal losing to Syracuse on Saturday. Duke took over the number one spot. Indiana ranked number two last week, also lost last week. The Hoosiers fell to number seven this week.

Michigan is the new number two, while Kansas sits at number three in a tie with Syracuse. Louisville is number five, while Arizona from the Pac-12 is ranked sixth. Florida moved up two spots to eight, and Butler zoomed up four to nine. Sitting at 10 is Gonzaga, who lost a thriller to Butler on Saturday.

Kansas State moved up five spots to 11, just in time for their showdown tomorrow vs Kansas. Following the Wildcats is a trio from the Big 10, in Minnesota, Michigan State, and Ohio State. After the Buckeyes comes New Mexico, followed by Oregon at 16. Rounding out the top 20 is Creighton, North Carolina State, VCU and Wichita State, who enters the poll at 20. The Shockers defeated Creighton on Saturday. Cincinnati, Ole Miss, and Miami all enter the poll at 21, 23, and 25. Sitting in the middle of the three is Missouri at 22, and Notre Dame at 24.

 

Syracuse already beat Cincinnati today, and Notre Dame went down to Georgetown. Tomorrow comes a showdown with Kansas and Kansas State facing off in Manhattan. Duke faces Miami in a key ACC game on Wednesday. On Sunday, Michigan State travels to play Indiana.
