On Monday night, the Kansas Jayhawks host the Baylor Bears in Lawrence. The game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. central time, and will be televised on ESPN. Kansas has a 14-1 record, and 2-0 in Big 12 play, while Baylor is 11-4, and 3-0 in conference.
On the year, Baylor has lost to Colorado, College of Charleston, Northwestern and Gonzaga. The Bears are on a three-game winning streak since their last defeat to Gonzaga, with wins over Texas, Texas Tech and TCU.
Baylor is led Pierre Jackson. The senior guard leads the team in points with 20 per game, and assists at six. Freshman center Isaiah Austin contributes with 15 points per contest, and eight rebounds. The 7-1 center has shown the ability to dominate the middle. Forward Cory Jefferson leads the team in rebounds, at nine per game. Jefferson also scores 14 per game. Baylor is among the nation’s elite as a team, scoring 79 points per game good for 25th in the country. The Bears also average shooting 48% from the field.
Kansas enters the game on a 13-game winning streak, however they struggled vs Iowa State last Wednesday, and even had problems vs Texas Tech on Saturday. Kansas needs a complete effort on Monday to beat Baylor.
