Tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. central time, the Texas Tech Red Raiders host the sixth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks in Lubbock. Texas Tech enters the game with a 8-5 record and 1-1 in the Big 12 conference. Kansas has a 13-1 record overall and is 1-0 in Big 12 play.
Texas Tech is coming off a horrible loss to Baylor, 82-48 on Tuesday night. Texas Tech started the year off on a solid note, winning their first four games of the year, before losing to Arizona. Losses to McNeese State, Alabama, Arizona State and now Baylor have followed. Kansas won their conference opener vs Iowa State in overtime on Wednesday night.
The Red Raiders are led by Jaye Crockett and Josh Gray. Crockett leads the team in scoring, averaging 15 points per game and about nine rebounds. Gray, a freshman point guard, is averaging 10 points and three assists. Texas Tech averages about 73 points per game, 68th in the nation. The Red Raiders as a team connect on 44% of their field goal attempts.
Kansas enters the game on a hot streak. Just when it looked like things were coming to an end on Wednesday, freshman guard Ben McLemore drilled a three-pointer to send the game into overtime. Kansas will look to win their 13th straight game on Saturday after losing their second game of the season vs Michigan State.
