Football Roundtable: Can Oklahoma Slow Down Manziel in the Cotton Bowl?

On Friday, the Oklahoma Sooners from the Big 12 conference face the Texas A&M Aggies in the Cotton Bowl. Both teams enter the game at 10-2 overall on the season. Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel became the first freshman ever to win the Heisman Trophy award in early December. Can the Sooners slow down Manziel in the Cotton Bowl?

Rickey: Well, I can tell you that what Oklahoma cannot do is play Texas A&M like Bama did this season. This is a nice opportunity for the Oklahoma Sooners. They have the chance to prove that Manziel only received the Heisman Trophy because of the Bama game. Will they do this? Most likely not.Johnny Football will have a huge game for A&M.

George: Oklahoma on the defensive side of things has struggled vs athletic quarterbacks this season. Against West Virginia, the Mountaineers scored 49 points thanks to quarterback Geno Smith. Oklahoma still won the game however. This game is an old Big 12 matchup with the Aggies just joining the SEC last year. Manziel, will have a huge game for the Aggies against the Sooners defense. The Sooners won’t be able to slow down the freshman.
