On Wednesday night, the Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 105-92. This victory follows a close win over Oklahoma City in a rematch of last season’s NBA finals on Christmas Day, 103-97.
Dwayne Wade scored 29 points, pulled down nine rebounds and had five assists to lead the Heat in the win. Lebron James added 27 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. Former Kansas Jayhawks star guard Mario Chalmers scored 17 points, and had four rebounds.
Former Connecticut guard Kemba Walker scored 27 points to pace the home Bobcats. Hakim Warrick added 18 points, and backup guard Ramon Sessions scored 19.
Miami got off to a quick start jumping to a 27-18 lead after the first quarter. The lead continued to build in the second quarter, as Miami held a 55-38 lead at halftime. Charlotte battled back to a 58-50 deficit after Walker connected on a lay-up. Even still, the Heat fought off the Bobcats in holding onto a 80-71 lead after three quarters. Charlotte managed to cut the lead down to two points after Gerald Henderson made a free throw, but the Bobcats failed to get any closer.
