The Kansas football team strikes again on the recruiting trail. One week after a slew of signing, including landing the nation’s top recruit at the JUCO level in Marquel Combs, Kansas and head coach Charlie Weis landed four-star recruit Chris Martin. The trail of recruits will look to improve Kansas’s struggles last season with a 1-11 record overall.
Martin, is another JUCO player who originally signed with California out of high school, only to transfer and play for Florida. Then Martin opted to play for Navarro College in Texas due to an arrest. Afterwards, Martin opted to play closer to home and City College in San Francisco. Now, Martin looks to give Division 1 football another try with Kansas.
Martin racked up 65.5 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and four and a half sacks this year at City College. With Martin’s signing, Kansas has now signed 23 recruits for the year. A total of 27 is expected to sign and play for Weis. As of right now, the Kansas Jayhawks recruiting class is ranked 31st in the nation according to rivals.com.
