Kansas Women’s Basketball: Prairie View A&M Preview

Tomorrow afternoon, the Kansas Lady Jayhawks welcome Prairie View A&M from the SWAC conference to Lawrence. On the year, the Panthers hold a 2-4 record, while the 22nd-ranked Lady Jayhawks are 8-1 this season.

The Panthers have won their last two games after dropping its first four. Wins over Memphis and Northwestern State have brightened the outlook for this team after a dreary start. Kiara Etienne leads the Panthers, averaging nearly 16 points per game. Etienne is aided by Latia Williams who is scoring 15 points per game. Williams combines her scoring with leading the team in rebounds at 10 per game, and she can pass the ball as well. Williams is making around four assists each game.  Jeannette Jackson is the teams main distributor, totaling five assists per game.

Kansas should have their hands full with Williams and Etienne who makes this team go. Etienne, on the wing is a threat to drain anything she tosses up at the net, while Williams will bang down low. Kansas forward Carolyn Davis will garner the task of slowing down Williams on Sunday.
