Kansas Basketball: Belmont Game Preview

On Saturday the ninth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks will host Belmont from the Ohio Valley Conference. Belmont is 6-2 on the year though are currently playing Middle Tennessee State at home.

The Bruins are led by senior guard Ian Clark who averages 19 points and three rebounds per contest. Clark has had a couple of big games on the season, most notably 24 points vs VCU on December 1st. Fellow guard Kerron Johnson has contributed 14 points, three rebounds and five assists per contest. Senior forward Trevor Noack is averaging 12 points and six rebounds per game. The big man leads the team in rebounds. Belmont has lost to VCU and Northeastern and defeated Stanford on Nov. 18th in Palo Alto, California.

Kansas will look to neutralize the two guards with Elijah Johnson and Travis Releford. The senior duo of Johnson and Releford along with big-man Jeff Withey should prove to be too much for Belmont in the end. Kansas has enjoyed a week off with their last game coming vs Colorado on Dec. 8th.
