Football Roundtable: Thoughts on Notre Dame vs SEC Champion National Title

After Notre Dame defeated USC on Saturday, the Fighting Irish clinched a spot in the BCS national title game. The Irish will face, either Georgia or Alabama, whomever wins the SEC title game. What are your thoughts on this potential game?

Ricky:The winner of the Bama/Georgia will play the Irish in the title game. Personally, I want to see the Bulldogs beat the Crimson Tide, but I feel Bama could dominate Notre Dame. ND’s defense is built on letting you get to the redzone and then shutting the door. They also have a strong inside run stop. I feel like Bama could overcome the Irish’s defense.

George: Alabama has the edge over Georgia, pushing them to the national title game opposite the top-ranked team in Notre Dame. Alabama has a talented team on both sides of the ball. Things have come along nicely for Notre Dame on offense, but this team is more known for defense. I would say, Alabama would defeat Notre Dame in the title game.
