Kansas Basketball: San Jose State Preview

Tomorrow evening at 7:00 central time, the 12th-ranked Kansas Jayhawks take the court once again against San Jose State. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Kansas is 4-1 on the season, while the Spartans of San Jose State is 2-2.

James Kinney is leading the way for San Jose State, averaging 21 points per contest this season. The Spartans are coming off a 94-54 victory over UC-Santa Cruz. Kinney scored 18 points in the win. San Jose State guard Nick Grieves is contributing with 18 points per game. The Spartans are amongst the nation’s best in field goal percentage, shooting 49% from the field. The team averages 76 points per game.

Kansas came on strong with a great showing at the CBE Classic. Forward Travis Releford led the way for the Jayhawks, grabbing MVP honors. He and center Jeff Withey have improved greatly on the offensive side of things this season. Withey is averaging 13 points and eight rebounds per game. Ben McLemore leads the Jayhawks in points, scoring around 14 per game. The freshman will look to continue this early season dominance against the Spartans.
