The Kansas Lady Jayhawks finished the game on a 10-4 en route to defeat, Wake Forest 64-58 on Sunday afternoon. Jayhawks senior forward Carolyn Davis led all players with 22 points in the win. Kansas improved to 3-0 with the win, while Wake Forest fell to 2-1.
Wake Forest went into the locker-room holding a 27-24 advantage in a first half after falling behind early, 20-9. The Demon Deacons rallied to go on a 18-4 run ending the first stanza of play. The second half was different as neither team could gain a large advantage. After Chelsea Douglas drained a three-pointer, Wake Forest held a 54-52 lead with 2:24 on the game-clock. Davis promptly answered with a three-point play after getting fouled by Asia Williams.
Angel Goodrich scored 13 points and had three assists in the win. Davis added nine rebounds to go along with her points. Lakevia Boykin led the Demon Deacons in points with 15. Douglas and Dearicia Hamby added 12 for Wake Forest who next up have a meeting with second-ranked Connecticut on Thursday. The Jayhawks next face Alabama A&M on Friday.
