Kansas Football: Ways to Beat Iowa State

The Kansas Jayhawks and Iowa State Cyclones match up in a game on Saturday in Lawrence. The Cyclones are 5-5 on the year, while Kansas is 1-9 and still searching for a Big 12 win. Will it happen this week? Here are ways to defeat Iowa State.

1. Use your speed: All the teams who have beaten Iowa State this season, have speedy players. For Kansas to win on Saturday they need to employ this factor to their advantage and use it. James Sims, Tony Pierson, and Taylor Cox are all three guys who can expect a big game on Saturday.

2. Run the ball: Sims, Pierson, and Cox should get the bulk of the offensive play calls once again. For the Jayhawks to win, they need about 300 yards rushing. These guys have the ability to do this as evidenced by last week’s game vs Texas Tech.

3. Pressure Steele Jantz: Force the quarterback to do things he doesn’t want to do. Jantz has had issues against teams who like to blitz like Texas last week. If the team can pressure the senior quarterback, then they have a chance.
