Kansas Non-Conference Basketball Preview: American

The Kansas Jayhawks and American Eagles match-up in a non-conference basketball game on Dec. 29th in Lawrence. The game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. central time.

Last season, American posted a 20-12 record overall and a 10-4 mark in the Patriot League. The Eagles finished third in the conference behind Bucknell and Lehigh.

Charles Hinkle, last season’s leading scorer at 18 points per game is gone. As is the only other double-figure scorer on the roster in Tony Brewer. Now a new top scorer must emerge.

Senior guard Daniel Munoz, returns as the top scorer averaging eight points per game. The guard averaged four assists and three rebounds and was a 43% three-point shooter. Fellow guard Blake Jolivette, also can score and will be counted to score more. Jolivette, averaged seven points per game. In the middle, Tony Wroblicky will be a possible double-double man. Last season, the junior center averaged six points and six rebounds per game in averaging only 18 minutes per game.

The game on Dec. 29th will be Kansas’s next to last non-conference game. Only Temple remains on the schedule for a Jan. 6th encounter with a game-time yet to be announced.
