Basketball Roundtable: Will Baylor Challenge Kansas This Season?

One of the most important teams for Kansas to watch out for this season is the Baylor Bears.

Baylor lost two key players as Perry Jones III and Quincy Acy left for the NBA. Both Jones and Acy were selected by NBA teams. However, they still are returning some big players and added freshman to fill some roles.

Since Kansas will be dealing with some personnel challenges this season, this could be the season where Baylor makes a jump on the Jayhawks for the Big 12 title.

Will the Baylor Bears be able to challenge the Kansas Jayhawks this season?

George: Baylor lost quite a bit from last season’s team, and are reloading like Kansas is. I like Pierre Jackson but who is going to help the guard out? The team will be in the upper echelon of the conference, just behind Kansas.

Ricky: If there is one team in the Big 12 that Kansas should watch out for, it is the Baylor Bears. Yes, Baylor lost Perry Jones III and Quincy Acy to the NBA, but still have the talent to complete in the Big 12. Brady Heslip, Isaiah Austin, and Pierre Jackson will help guide Baylor to a successful season. Kansas and Baylor will be the main two teams fighting for the conference title with West Virginia being a wild card.
