Kansas Football: Three Ways to Defeat Baylor

The Kansas Jayhawks and Baylor Bears meet in Waco, Texas on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. central time. The game will be on Fox Sports Net.

Here are three ways for Kansas to defeat Baylor and end their seven-game slide.

1. Run the Ball: Kansas with a great rushing attack can pull of the win on Saturday, and end their seven-game slide. The Jayhawks are led by running back James Sims who has 622 yards on the year. Tony Pierson has added 477 yards. If these two guys can carry the offense again like they did last  week vs Texas, then Kansas has a great shot at winning.

2. Slow Nick Florence: The senior Baylor quarterback has had a great season. Only one team was able to slow him down, and that was TCU. The Horned Frogs defeated Baylor, 49-21 on Oct. 13th. Florence tossed four interceptions in the loss. Pressuring the starting quarterback and make him rush his decisions is a key factor.

3. Be Patient with Michael Cummings: The freshman quarterback will continue to take his lumps as he improves. He has made improvements every week this since taking the starting job from Dayne Crist. His numbers haven’t been flashy but Cummings has been effective. Keep improving on Saturday, and Kansas may get their first win in conference play.
