Last week, Kansas announced that it will play Big East Conference power Georgetown in a four-year home-and-home series starting in the 2013-14 season.
Kansas has played Georgetown only twice and are 2-0 against the Hoyas. The last time the Jayhawks played the Hoyas was last season in the quarterfinals of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational in Lahaina, Hawaii.
Georgetown will visit Kansas next year on December 21, 2013. The two teams will swap locations between the schools for four years starting in 2013.
Is the Home-and-Home Series Against Georgetown Good For Kansas?
George: Georgetown is traditionally a great power in basketball, so a series with the Hoyas will be a major plus. I like the idea of having tough non-conference opponents, getting you ready for the grueling conference schedule.
Ricky: The Home-and-Home Series with Georgetown is not good for Kansas…It’s great! The best thing this does is creates a tougher non-conference schedule, but it is also starting a tradition. This Home-and-Home Series is only set for four years right now, but could become more in the future. We never know. This could become a little rivalry.
