The Kansas Jayhawks get ready to start their season next week against Southeast Missouri State.
This season, the Jayhawks will be without their top two scorers from last season Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor.
However, they have players like Kevin Young, Jeff Withey, and Elijah Johnson returning for the 2012-2013 season.
Who will be the most important player for the Jayhawks this season?
George: Jeff Withey is Kansas’ most important player. The center needs to increase his scoring output and continue to be a dominant force on the defensive side of things.
Ricky: Elijah Johnson is going to be Kansas’ most important player this season. Last season, he was third on the team in scoring with 10.2 points per game behind Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor. Johnson will need to be the main scorer for the Jayhawks this season. As a senior, he will need to be the leader of the team and will need to team up with Jeff Withey like Taylor teamed up with Robinson last year to help Kansas get to the championship.
