Kansas Football: Nick Florence is one to watch

The Kansas Jayhawks take on the Baylor Bears next Saturday at 1:30 p.m. central time in Waco, Texas. Baylor is led by a great quarterback named Nick Florence.

Florence keys the nation’s number one passing attack, averaging 396 yards through the air each game. Baylor at 3-4 on the season, and 0-4 in conference are alike Kansas who are also looking for a victory in conference. Florence in last week’s Bears loss to Iowa State passed for 426 yards and two touchdowns. On the season, Florence has 22 passing touchdowns.

The Bears have an adequate rushing offense led by senior back Jarred Salubi, who for the season has 430 yards. In addition to Salubi, Baylor can throw Glasco Martin, Lache Seastrunk or even Florence who can run the ball. Martin has 311 yards on the ground, Seastrunk comes in with 181 yards. Florence has rushed for 247 yards, including the team’s longest run on the year of 60 yards which he took in for a touchdown vs Sam Houston State.

Florence’s top target at the receiver spot is Terrance Williams. The senior receiver has been electric this year. Williams has 60 receptions for 1203 yards and nine touchdowns. Tevin Reese and Lanear Sampson are also both capable receivers with the two combining for 68 receptions.
