Basketball Roundtable: Will Kevin Young’s Preseason Injury Hurt Kansas?

Senior forward Kevin Young injured his hand last week during practice.

He broke a bone in the middle of his left hand and had surgery on the last Friday.

Kansas said last week that they expect Young to be back within 10 days to shooting again and that he may be back on the court within two weeks.

With that being said, will Kevin Young’s preseason injury hurt Kansas early on or will everything be fine for the Jayhawks?

George: I don’t think the Kevin Young injury hurts Kansas as they have tons of depth at the position. And its not like its going to be a long term injury. He will be back by the time the schedule gets more difficult.

Ricky: There are two positives for the Kansas Jayhawks when it comes to the Kevin Young injury. First off, it is not a long term injury. Two weeks is nothing big. Second, Kansas does not play too many tough opponents in the first week of the season. Their first opponent is Southeast Missouri State which should be a blowout and he should be back just in time for the Michigan State game.
