On Saturday, the 1-6 Kansas Jayhawks will look to end a six-game skid as Texas (5-2) comes to Lawrence for an homecoming meeting. The game is at 11:00 a.m. and will be broadcast live on FSN. This will be Kansas’s 100th homecoming weekend.
Texas leads the all-time series between the two schools at 9-2, taking the last nine meetings. Texas won last years match-up, 43-0. The Jayhawks last win against Texas came in 1938, with a 19-18 win in Lawrence.
Kansas safety Bradley McDougald leads the Jayhawks in tackling with 58 on the season. Texas counters with Steve Edmond who leads the squad at 55. Quandre Diggs leads Texas with three interceptions, McDougald and Tyler Patmon are tied for Jayhawks lead in this category at two.
Jayhawks starting running back James Sims is moving up the Kansas career rushing stats category. The back is 12th currently on the all-time list with a total of 1,915 rushing yards, just 760 yards behind Gale Sayers who ranks fifth on the list.
Texas comes this game one week after giving up 50 points to Baylor in a win last week. The Longhorns have given up 48 points to West Virginia and 63 to Oklahoma this season.
