The Texas Longhorns and Kansas Jayhawks face-off tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. central time. Here is an interview done with the Hook’em Headlines editor, the Longhorns fansided website.
1. What has been the number one weakness to Texas this season?
Shocking it’s been the defense. One of the consistent themes of this Texas Longhorns team under Mack Brown has been good defense. I don’t blame spread offenses because last year they held Oklahoma State below their average last year and held a Texas Tech team, who scored 41 in Norman in 2011, to only 20. This defense can’t stop anyone and honestly, only Alex Okafor and Kenny Vacarro are the only locks on this defense to keep playing.
2. Will David Ash become a NFL quarterback?
I think he has the potential. David Ash isn’t leaving early next year unless he has an amazing year. But look at his measurables, he is 6’3″, which is the average height of an NFL starter. He can learn quickly evidence of his transformation from last year to this year and he may not be the fastest QB in college football, but he can extend plays and avoid sacks. He will get a chance for sure.
3. Who should Kansas be most worried about on the Texas roster?
If they get touches, Daje Johnson and DJ Monroe. They are the game breakers of this team and even though they get limited touches, they make plays. Outside of that, not much just David Ash finding guys downfield.
4. Are ten win seasons on the horizon for Texas again after last season?
Yeah, could be this year much to the dismay of Longhorn fans which most want Mack Brown out because they don’t want him as their head coach anymore. But the talent is on this team to win a national title, they just don’t execute.
