Kansas Football: Three Ways To Defeat Oklahoma

On Saturday, Kansas travels to face Oklahoma in Norman. Here are three ways for the Jayhawks to pull off the shocking win.

1. Start Michael Cummings: The Dayne Crist struggles continue with last week’s loss to Oklahoma State. Though he didn’t turn the ball over, the quarterback was ineffective with the offense. Freshman Michael Cummings relieved Crist, and helped lead the offense on two touchdown scoring drives. Time for a change is in order.

2. Run the ball: Oklahoma’s pass defense is ranked 11th in the country. Kansas has a great trio of running backs who could aide whomever starts at quarterback with great runs. James Sims, Taylor Cox and Tony Pierson all have rushed for over 300 yards this season. Feed the Oklahoma defense a steady diet of these three and things could open up for the offense.

3. Stop the Oklahoma run: The Sooners have a very balanced offense with quarterback Landry Jones and running back Damien Williams leading the way. If you can eliminate the running game then it would put more pressure on Jones. The Jayhawks with Bradley McDouglad and Lubbock Smith in the secondary can slow down Kenny Stills and Justin Brown. If you take away the run, good things can happen.
