Kansas Football: Balanced Attack Fuels Sooners Offense

The Kansas Jayhawks travel to face Oklahoma on Saturday. Here is a look at the Sooners offense that ranks ninth in the nation, averaging 43 points per contest. The rushing game averages 221 yards, and passing attack 285 yards per game.

Senior quarterback Landry Jones is enjoying a great season so far. The quarterback has 1,353 passing yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. Jones in the Sooners loss to Kansas State passed for 299 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Last week vs Texas, the quarterback had his best game of the year, totaling 321 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Junior running back Damien Williams has rushed for 508 yards. His top game of the season came in week two vs Florida A&M. The back totaled four touchdowns, and 156 yards on just 10 carries. Last week, he had a memorable game as well. Williams rushed for 167 yards and one touchdown, including a 95-yard scamper.

Wide receiver Kenny Stills is Jones’s favorite target. The junior has 32 receptions for 381 yards and three touchdowns. Stills struggled against Texas’s cornerbacks yet has the talent to break a reception at any moment.
