Kansas and Oklahoma State face off tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m. central time in Lawrence at Memorial Field. The game will be shown live on Fox Sports Net.
Oklahoma State leads the overall series between the two teams 30-29-3. The Jayhawks will look to end a four-game losing streak this season and a two-game losing streak to the Cowboys on Saturday. Kansas will also look to get a winning record overall for the school as last week’s loss dropped the mark to 573-573-58.
The Jayhawks defense forcing turnovers is the talk of the teams play this season. Kansas has recovered seven fumbles and picked off six interceptions this season. Kansas linebacker Ben Heeny had a standout performance last week vs Kansas State, picking up 11 tackles for the game. Heeny’s performance earned him an honorable mention for College Football Performance Awards.
Oklahoma State defense have struggled this season. The Cowboys have given up on average 31 points per game this season. The offense has averaged 55 points for the 2-2 team. Quarterback J.W. Walsh is expected to get the start vs Kansas though head coach Mike Gundy has yet to make it official. Fellow freshman Wes Lunt is in contention for the job at quarterback. Walsh has thrown 797 passing yards and eight touchdowns, while Lunt has totaled 588 yards and four touchdowns.
