Kansas Recruiting: James Young Signs with Kentucky

The number five recruit in the country for the 2013 class, signed with Kentucky on Thursday. Young, joins Andrew and Aaron Harrison who signed with the team last week. Andrew and Aaron are ranked two and four on the ESPN top 100 recruit list.

Young chose Kentucky over other finalists Michigan State, Syracuse and Kansas. The Wildcats are also hoping to add number three recruit Julius Randle and number six guy Aaron Gordon as the two make their decisions soon. Young and the twins join Kennedy Meeks and Marcus Lee, both top 30 recruits.

Kentucky rose to the favorites for the guard/forward services over the summer. Young averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds and four assists per game last season. He was named to the Detroit News Dream Team after posting these numbers.

The Wildcats continue to get the top recruits, though SEC rival Florida is battling the Wildcats for top class overall. Florida and head coach Billy Donovan have commits from Kasey Hill and Chris Walker, the eighth and ninth recruit, both from Florida.
