After their bye this week, Kansas will continue their Big 12 Conference schedule against (7) Kansas State. Besides KSU, the Kansas schedule currently has four other ranked teams. These teams consist of (16) Oklahoma, (12) Texas, (25) Baylor, and (9) West Virginia. This could change however because Baylor could drop out of the Top 25 this week with a loss.
With this conference schedule ahead of them, how will the Jayahwks fair? In their previous Big 12 game against TCU, Kansas was able to force a total of four turnovers on defense, but still lost the game 20-6.
Can the Kansas Jayhawks survive their Big 12 Conference schedule or could it be a LONG rest of the season?
George: Things are not looking bright for Kansas. Losing to Rice and Northern Illinois, two teams who the Jayhawks should beat doesn’t bode well for how the season is going to go. These two teams are not as good as Texas Tech, the team right in front of Kansas in the standings. Things are looking bleak. Will be interesting to see if they bounce back vs Kansas State. Even Texas Tech is looking good so far, though it is hard to say how good they are until the conference play begins. Kansas should be worried. Tough conference schedule is about to begin.
Ricky: I would be surprised if the Jayhawks won a single Big 12 Conference game this year. Kansas looks bad and I don’t really know if the future is bright. Just with the ranked opponents that Kansas will play, those are some tough teams. The game against KSU will be nice because its a rivalry game, but Kansas will lose. In the end, I do not believe Dayne Crist can handle the defenses in the Big 12 Conference.
