Marcus Jenkins-Moore visited Kansas last weekend on September 14th. Despite losing badly to the TCU Horned Frogs, Kansas was told that Jenkins-Moore’s decision could be coming within the next week.
His decision did come within a week of his visit to Kansas and it should make Jayhawk fans very happy. On Thursday, Jenkins-Moore made a call to head coach Charlie Weis to say he was committing to Kansas. After the decision, Marcus said “I called coach Charlie Weis today and committed to Kansas, He was very excited about my decision.”
Marcus Jenkins-Moore is currently in junior college. He is a sophomore at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California. This would mean that he would only have two seasons with the Jayhawks, but has a redshirt year available if needed.
Before the commitment on Thursday, Kansas was one of sixteen teams on Jenkins-Moore’s interest list. Out of the sixteen teams, there were three Big 12 teams, three Pac-12 teams, two SEC teams, and two Big Ten teams.
Marcus Jenkins-Moore will bring some experience and size to the Kansas defense. He is an Outside Linebacker who sits at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds.
Like mentioned earlier, Jayhawk fans should be very excited about this commitment. Kansas’ defense had four turnovers in the game against TCU and that kind of number could be a norm in Lawrence with Jenkins-Moore on the squad next year.
