Recruiting: Marquel Combs Visits Kansas Over The Weekend

This past weekend, the Jayhawks got a special visit from one of their top recruiting targets, Marquel Combs. Combs is a 6-foot-3, 305 pound defensive tackle from Woodland Hills, California. He currently plays football at the junior college level for Pierce College.

Combs currently has 31 teams on his interest list. Kansas might be at the top of his list, but some of the other teams include: California, Kentucky, Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Utah.

Combs’ recruitment decision might be open, but his visit to Kansas this weekend could have done some good even though Kansas lost to TCU. This is because the Kansas defense put on a show in the loss as they forced four turnovers against the Horned Frogs.

It appears that Marquel Combs enjoyed his visit to Lawrence as he tweeted:

Combs would be a very nice addition to the KU defense because of his speed, strength, and intensity. The one question mark surrounding Combs is his lateral range and if he can improve that range at the next level.
