Big 12 Power Rankings: TCU Moves Up, Iowa State Slides

Here is the Through the Phog Big 12 Power Rankings, a poll that accumulates our staff’s thoughts on the best through the worst in the conference. Teams in first place get 9 points, second place receive 8 points, and so on.

This poll follows this weekend of college football.

1. Oklahoma (2-0) – 18 points
   The Sooners take a week off before they host Kansas State next week.
2. Kansas State (3-0) – 15 points
   Klein shines again as KSU beat North Texas.
3. West Virginia (2-0) – 14 points
   The Mountaineers had no problem getting past the Dukes and will play Maryland next week.
4. Texas (3-0) – 13 points
   The Longhorns rolled past the Rebels as David Ash threw four touchdowns.
5. TCU (2-0, 1-0) – 9 points
   TCU got their feet wet in the Big 12 by beating the Jayhawks.
6. Iowa State (3-0) – 8 points
   The Cyclones will have a week off before they open conference play against Texas Tech.
7. Baylor (2-0) – 6 points
   The Bears will need to be on their toes next week against Louisiana-Monroe. If they are not, they could end up like Arkansas did in Week 2.
8. Texas Tech (3-0) – 4 points
   Just like Iowa State, they will have a week off before facing off against the Cyclones on September 29th.
9. Oklahoma State (2-1) – 3 points
   J.W. Walsh came in for an injured Wes Lunt and threw four touchdowns as the Cowboys tried to get back on track.
10. Kansas (1-2, 0-1) – 0 points
    Kansas looked good on defense, but the offense could only muster up 6 points in the loss to TCU.
