Week 2 was jammed packed with some good Big 12 action. Rice upset Kansas. Kansas State made a statement against ACC foe, Miami (FL). Iowa State won for the first time on the road against Iowa in ten years. TCU blew out Grambling State in their opener. Then, to cap off the night, Oklahoma State lost in upset fashion to the Arizona Wildcats.
Everyone loves talking about the biggest stories of the week, but the best part about football is when people get to brag about their football predictions.
The staff at Through the Phog has decided to tackle the entire Big 12 conference all season long, taking a look at each game with some quick thoughts. We welcome anyone else’s take on the week and give your predictions below, or call out some games we may take for granted.
Week 3 will bring us our first Big 12 conference game as TCU travels to Kansas, a game featuring the Big 12 and SEC as Texas plays Ole Miss, and a couple of non-conference battles.

George: TCU | Ricky: TCU
The Jayhawks will try to come back after their upset loss to Rice in Week 2 while TCU will be looking to make a statement in their first ever Big 12 Conference game.
12:00 p.m. – Louisiana-Lafayette @ Oklahoma State - FSN
George: OSU | Ricky: OSU
Oklahoma State will try to bounce back from their upset loss last week and should be able to do just that in Week 3.
4:30 p.m. – James Madison @ (9) West Virginia -Root Sports
George: WVU | Ricky: WVU
After the bye last week, West Virginia looks to continue streaking against James Madison, but James Madison can upset teams. Just ask the Hokies about their 2012 game against the Dukes.
7:00 p.m. – North Texas @ (15) Kansas State - FSN
George: KSU | Ricky: KSU
The Wildcats surprised some (especially me) in their Week 2 game. This game should be an easy win for KSU and a final tune up before playing the Sooners next week.
7:00 p.m. – New Mexico @ Texas Tech -FOX College Sports
George: Texas Tech | Ricky: Texas Tech
New Mexico is coming off of a shut out loss against Texas. Texas Tech should not have a problem, but New Mexico might be able to surprise some.

George: Baylor | Ricky: Baylor
Baylor had last week off and should not have a problem against Sam Houston State this week.
8:00 p.m. – Western Illinois @ Iowa State – Cyclones.tv
George: ISU | Ricky: ISU
ISU is on an emotional high after winning at Iowa City for the first time in ten years.
9:15 p.m. – (14) Texas @ Ole Miss -ESPN
George: Texas | Ricky: Ole Miss
Texas will play it’s first “real opponent of 2012. George thinks the Longhorns will be fine against the Rebels while Ricky thinks the SEC opponent will be too much for the Longhorns to handle.
