This week, we are loaded with four big Week 2 questions: should Kansas be concerned with Dayne Crist, would you want Geno Smith or Colin Klein as your starting quarterback, what can Kansas expect from TCU in Week 3, and how will Texas A&M and Missouri fair in the SEC this season.
Second, Through the Phog discusses who they would prefer to be their starting quarterback. The choices for this roundtable are West Virginia’s Geno Smith and Kansas State’s Colin Klein.
Would you pick Geno Smith or Colin Klein to be your starting quarterback and why?
George: If I had a choice of either Geno Smith or Collin Klein, I would have to pick Smith. He has the more natural ability of the two, though Klein has exceptional talent, Smith is so versatile, he can beat you many ways.
Ricky: Before I choose which quarterback I would want starting on my football team, let me say that both Smith and Klein are great quarterbacks. I might get a little grief for my pick, but I would choose Collin Klein. The one thing I love about Klein is that he can run with the ball as well as throw. In Kansas State’s first two games, he has rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns. All three of his rushing touchdowns came in Week 2 against Miami (FL). He is also smart with the football, but I feel like he does not get as much opportunity as Geno Smith does. For example, Klein only had eleven passing attempts in their Week 2 game.
