Kansas Recruiting: Cozart Flashes Greatness

Along with Jordan Darling, the Kansas Jayhawks have Montell Cozart coming in for the 2013 season as quarterbacks. Darling is looking good so far this season in high school ball. Cozart for the first two games of the year, has been quite impressive for Bishop Miege High School in Kansas City.

On Friday, Cozart went 12-24 for 176 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in leading Bishop Miege to the win over fellow Kansas high school power Gardner High School. Bishop Miege grabbed an early 20-0 lead before holding off Gardner. Cozart was a huge reason why the team pulled off the win. Kansas position coaches Ron Powlus and Tim Grunhard were present during Cozart’s game. Bishop Miege earlier defeated Blue Valley North High, 35-8.

Cozart, who was named the Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year last season, has aspirations of leading Bishop Miege to the championship this season.

In addition to the quarterback commits, Kansas has tight end Ben Johnson, offensive lineman Joey Bloomfield, linebacker Jordan Ash, and cornerbacks Taylor Lewis and Colin Spencer coming in 2013.
