The Kansas Jayhawks women soccer team hopes to continue their winning ways this weekend at home as Missouri State and NC State come for a visit.
Kansas faces Missouri State tomorrow at 5 p.m. and then hosts NC State on Sunday at 1 p.m. Kansas holds a 8-1 advantage over Missouri State in previous matches, while this is the first meeting ever between the Jayhawks and NC State. Missouri State has a 3-4 record overall, while NC State is 4-2. Kansas enters the weekend with a 4-1-1 record overall. The team has gone unbeaten the last three weekends, though the match on last Sunday vs Arizona State ended in a tie at 2-2.
Kansas is led by freshman Ashley Williams who leads the Big 12 in points with 11 and goals at five. Teammate Carolina Kastor has added three goals for the Jayhawks.
Missouri State is led by Michelle Sommer and Shelby Stewart who each have three goals apiece. The Bears are averaging 1.86 goals per match, and are giving up just 1.29 goals.
NC State faces Appalachian State on Friday, before traveling to Lawrence. The Wolfpack are averaging two goals per contest and giving up only one a game. Shannon Colligan leads the team with three goals.
