Senior guard Demetrius Jackson from Mishawanka Marion High School in Indiana is set to visit Illinois on Sept. 1st then travel to Kansas for a homecoming visit on Oct. 27th. The Jayhawks football team will be facing Texas in the game.
The 6-1 Jackson also has plans to visit the defending NCAA champions Kentucky, though there isn’t an official date yet. He is rated as the 18th prospect by ESPN.com and a five-star recruit. Jackson plans to make a decision in the winter, yet there is a chance he would wait until spring. According to scouts, Jackson would be the top point guard of the class if not for Florida recruit Kasey Hill. The guard can drive to the hoop whenever he wants, and can score in bunches.
Joining Kansas, Kentucky, and Illinois in the mix for Jackson are: Louisville and Notre Dame. Jackson eliminated Butler from contention this past week.
Kansas already has commits for 2013 in Connor Frankemp and Brannen Greene. The team is looking for centers and point guards with Elijah Johnson and Jeff Withey both to graduate this year. Kansas offered Jackson a scholarship in July.
