Six Big-12 teams in Preseason Coaches Poll

Two SEC colleges are at the top of the top 25 poll that was announced on Thursday. LSU and Alabama received 38 of 57 possible first place votes and are 1-2 in the poll. USC is right behind at 3 after receiving 19 first-place votes.

Oklahoma from the Big-12 is fourth, after picking up one first-place vote, while Oregon is fifth.  Georgia, out of the SEC is next, followed by Florida State, Michigan, South Carolina and Arkansas to round out the top 10.

Five more Big 12 schools are in the top 25, with West Virginia at 11, Texas at 15, TCU next at 17, Oklahoma State then at 19 and Kansas State at 21. No Big East team is in the top 25, though this should change next season as Boise State enters the conference. The Broncos minus Kellen Moore, are ranked at 22 this season.

LSU and Alabama, staged two very different games last season, one that saw LSU defeat Alabama, 9-6 in overtime and the other which the Crimson Tide whipped the Tigers in the national title game, 21-0.
