Anrio Adams and Kansas made it official on Thursday, the explosive shooting guard is coming to play. Adams originally committed with Kansas in the fall, yet the Jayhawks elected to wait on signing him until he got better academically. Adams improved immensely over the year in school, prompting Self to sign him.
Adams was the class 3A player of the year last season for Rainer Beach High School in Washington. The guard averaged 21 points, six rebounds and five assists for Rainer, while leading them to a 27-3 record and the state title.
He is listed as the 98th overall recruit from Rivals.com and 91st at ESPN. Adams has steadily improved his game during his stay at Rainer Beach, leading many to think his best basketball is ahead. Adams joins five freshman who were signed during the fall/spring signing period. Andrew White, Landon Lucas, Perry Ellis, Milton Doyle and Zach Peters are all highly touted players coming in next season. In addition, Ben McLemore and Jamari Taylor are red-shirt freshman who will take the court next season.
