Here we are just a couple days outside of former South Carolina player Damontre Harris transferring to Florida, spurning offers from Kansas amongst other schools.
Kansas head coach Bill Self wanted Harris on the roster to help bulk up the squads frontline. Harris last year as a Gamecock saw him get an all-SEC defensive team nod. Harris averaged seven points, six rebounds and two blocks with South Carolina. He will be have to sit out one season, per NCAA rules, and be elgible next season.
Harris a top-70 recruit back in 2010 decided to transfer from South Carolina after the university fired head coach Darrin Horn with Frank Martin. He has great potential, yet under Horn’s tutelage failed to put together much of a scoring ability. Now going to Florida with Billy Donovan as the head coach, the sky is the limit for the bruiser.
