Kansas State on Sunday defeated Kansas, 9-3 to finish the weekend. Kansas won game two on Saturday and Kansas State started things off with a victory.
Kansas does need to win some games as they hold a half-game lead over Kansas State for eighth place in the Big 12. Only the top eight teams make the conference tournament.
Missouri is locked into a tournament bid, sitting comfortably in sixth place with a 9-12 record. Missouri has a 28-24 record overall, while Kansas is 20-31.
Dane Opel leads the way for Missouri and the Big 12 with 12 home-runs on the season. Andreas Plackis is currently one a 13-game hitting streak heading into Thursday.
Missouri does have a weak pitching staff, so if Kansas can swing the bat well, then anything is possible.
