The offers just keep rolling in for four-star Hawaii defensive tackle Scott Pagano, and he recently received an offer from Clemson. The 6’4″, 275 pound tackle has terrific strength, and he is an impact player as a pass rusher and in run defense. Pagano is the 21st best DT in the nation, and the high amount of offers show that he is no longer a secret on the island.
Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Army, Baylor, Boise State, BYU, California, Clemson, Colorado, Hawaii, Houston, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, San Diego State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, Vanderbilt, Washington, Washington State, Wyoming, and Yale have all offered one of the hottest recruits in the nation.
The second best recruit in the state of Hawaii and one of the top 35 in the region, Scott Pagano is very athletic, and it goes well with his solid size and immense strength. He has the versatile to kick outside and play end when needed, but his technique is poor. That makes Pagano’s upside all the more tantalizing, however, because if a coach can work with him and help better his technique and give him some pass rushing moves to aid him, he can be a star.
In high school, players can get away with using their strength and athleticism to overpower the man across from them. That doesn’t happen nearly as much in college ball, and you need to have pass rushing moves to use with your skill.
LSU and Maryland also offered Scott Pagano recently this month, and the 2013 recruit is up to over 25 offers and will likely take an official visit to LSU. After all, they are arguably the biggest school in the nation. In any case, another skill to like about the 2013 recruit that allows him to play end is quickness.
