UNC offers Noah Vonleh

North Carolina Tar Heels coach Roy Williams offered his first scholarship to a player in the 2014 class, and the talented recruit who received this offer was superstar SF/PF Noah Vonleh.

The five-star recruit is the top power forward recruit for the 2014 recruiting class, Vonleh is also the third best recruit overall. Noah Vonleh is the gem in his region and is undoubtedly the top recruit in the state of Massachusetts.

Noah Vonleh currently has offers from Arizona, Boston College, UNC, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Marquette, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Providence, Syracuse, UCLA, and Maryland. He has also received interest from Connecticut and Kentucky.

The Tar Heels have always been interested in Noah Vonleh, and it seemed inevitable that an offer would come towards the five-star recruit with an ESPN Scout Grade of 98 and a 247Sports Rating of 100.

The 6’8″, 210 pound PF isn’t at top recruit Anthony Wiggins’s level, but he’s certainly at least a top five recruit in his own right. This guy has as much potential as anyone in this class and is an incredible talent overall. Noah Vonleh rose quickly to become a top ten recruit and has a good combination of strength and length. He’s still growing, so he is projected as a PF by 2014 but some still view him as a 3.

Vonleh is a great pure scorer with good athleticism, and there is no doubt that his upside is almost limitless at this point. North Carolina is in the thick of a wide open race, as are the Kansas Jayhawks.
