The Kansas baseball team winners of three-straight games, now face the University of Texas this weekend. The teams meet in Austin for a three-game series beginning on Friday.
Texas, ranked 23rd in the nation, are currently in second-place of the Big 12 with a 9-3 record. Texas is 12-4 at home this season. The Longhorns are winning with their pitching, posting a 3.35 era this year. The team is not swinging the bats very well, just eighth in the conference.
Kansas thanks to a break in the schedule, have won three straight. Games versus Baker and St. Marys assisted the team. Also a victory over third-ranked Texas A&M on Sunday helped the teams confidence. Kansas needs a great performance from an offense led by senior catcher James Stanfield. Ace pitcher Frank Duncan will need to help out the Jayhawks offense, and slow down Texas batters.
The series will be difficult for the Kansas to win. Yet anybody can win, any given night as we saw last Sunday.
