The Jayhawks absolutely dismantled Kansas State in front of a national audience on Saturday. The Wildcats had no answer for Kansas’ big men, who played an inspired game. The Jayhawks went out of their way to feed the post, Thomas Robinson in particular, to run roughshod over their in-state rivals.

It was a week of upsets, and while the polls are not yet out, it is likely that Kansas will return to the #2 spot in at least one of the polls to be released later today.

Ohio State • remains undefeated, and will retain the #1 spot.
Pittsburgh • lost 56-51 to #14 Notre Dame on Monday
Duke • crushed by St. John’s 93-78 on Saturday
San Diego State • lost to #9 Brigham Young on Wednesday
Connecticut • lost to #19 Louisville 79-78 in double overtime on Saturday
Kansas • beat preseason #3 K-State 90-66
Texas • Beat #13 Mizzou 71-58 Saturday night
Villanova • dropped two in a row to Providence & Georgetown
Syracuse • on a four game losing skid
Brigham Young • lost to unranked New Mexico in the Pit

In a crazy week, seven of the top ten teams suffered losses. The top three teams are self evident, but after that things get quite a bit fuzzy, and expect deep divisions in the polls. Here is my best guess:

I dropped Brigham Young out of the top ten because of their loss to New Mexico State, and because it is inconceivable to me that a team could lose and retain or still move up in the polls, but it wouldn’t surprise me if this happened. They did best previously undefeated San Diego State this week, after all.
